Humankind has never had a greater wealth of knowledge and information at our disposal, however, the pace at which technology and knowledge is advancing, it can become overwhelming for people to engage in thinking for themselves. Too often they have been "outsourcing" their beliefs and fealty to unethical leaders and to personalities on social media and on cable news networks who have their own agenda which often is not aligned with the best interest of the person adopting those opinions.
The Philosopher, Immanuel Kant explains "Enlightenment" as humakind's "emergence from their self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment. "
The challenge today is not access to knowledge, but the courage to think critically and independently amidst overwhelming information. Kant's call for 'enlightenment'—to 'dare to know'—is more urgent than ever as we navigate a world filled with influences that often do not serve our best interests. Professional Organizing Services
